Training for authorized forklift/PIT operators consists of both formal instructional training and a practical evaluation. Recertification must be obtained every 3 years.
Practical evaluation includes demonstration performed by the trainer and exercises performed by the trainee to ensure competence when operating an industrial truck.
- Practical evaluation should be conducted utilizing the industrial truck(s) to be used by the operator.
- Practical evaluation should simulate typical work to be conducted with the industrial truck.
