You will learn how asbestos containing materials were used, how those materials are hazardous, and the liabilities that the university has as the building owner and owner of this hazardous material.

Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination
Class Overview
This training assists employees to recognize suspicious activities that contribute to storm water pollution. Topics include spotting illegal dumping or discharge.
Who is this class for?
This training is recommended for any driver, police officer, maintenance worker or delivery personnel whose job requires travel throughout campus.
Infectious Waste
Class Overview
This training assists employees to identify materials that are considered infectious waste and comply with applicable infectious waste regulations. Topics include infectious waste items, responsibilities, warning labels, packaging materials, sharp infectious waste, waste spills, and treatment of infectious waste.

This training is recommended for any individual that generates infectious waste and must handle, package, and dispose of infectious waste in accordance with infectious waste regulations.
Municipal Storm Water Pollution Prevention

This training discussed the differences between storm and sanitary sewer systems and provides janitorial, maintenance and landscape employees with basic knowledge and practices that must be practiced to prevent storm water pollution.
Who is this class for?
Although this training is intended for municipal facilities, it is applicable to our university because of our size and Ohio EPA Permit requirements.
Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC)

This training provides individuals who handle oil detailed information on appropriate spill prevention methods and spill control measures for a facility. This training is required on an annual basis.

This training provides a general overview of storm water regulations and operational best management practices associated industrial and government sites.
Who is this class for?
Our Columbus, Newark, Lima Campuses and the Ohio State Airport are each under a state storm water permit. However, to minimize our university’s impact on the aquatic environment, all employees, students, and volunteers should participate in this training and apply applicable best management practices to their everyday lives.
