Hospital Safety and Security Radiation Safety
Class Overview
This training provides general information to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center security personnel on radiation safety fundamentals, package receipt, patients treated with radioactive materials and implants and laboratories posted for the use of radioactive material.
Who is this class for?
This is required annual training for all Wexner Medical Center security personnel.
Laser Safety
Class Overview
The training provides an introduction to the fundamentals of laser safety. Topic areas include laser classifications, hazards, non-beam hazards, laser accidents and control measures.
Who is this class for?
This is a one-time, online training, required for all employees who are working with Class IIIb or IV lasers.
Radiation Safety Short Course
Class Overview
Successful completion of this course, along with completion of the site-specific in-laboratory training provided by each approved supervisor, is required to obtain authorization to use radioactive materials at The Ohio State University.
Who is this class for?
All individuals seeking status as an approved supervisor for the use of radioactive materials or individuals seeking status as a user of radioactive materials are required to participate in this course, even if you have successfully completed a similar course at another institution. The Radiation Safety Short Course is also required for any individual working in a laboratory posted for the use of radioactive material, whether or not they are handling radioactive material.
