Protocol to Cease Operation
In the event of ventilation failure involving the chemical fume hood or the laboratory, cease all hazardous operations (i.e., operations that generate toxic or hazardous fumes, gases, or vapors). Silence the fume hood alarm. Stop all chemical reactions and deenergize any electrical equipment in use. Close fume hood sash. Notify lab personnel and post a notification on the hood. Report the ventilation failure Facilities, Operation and Development.
Protocol to Re-Start Ventilation
Do not attempt to re-start any ventilation equipment or device. This service will be provided by OSU Facilities Services personnel.

Do not attempt to re-start or re-set the chemical fume hood. This service will be provided by OSU Facilities Services personnel.
