Meet Kimberly Morris

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assists the university community in providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for students, faculty, staff, contractors and visitors. EHS also works to protect the local community and environment from potential hazards on campus and instills safety, health and environmental stewardship in the work they perform.

What is your official job title at EHS and a general description of your job duties?

 My official job title is Senior Medical Health Physicist. I assist various departments who utilize radioactive materials and radiation generating equipment for therapeutic and diagnostic patient standard of care in maintaining regulatory compliance for public, occupational, and environmental health and safety.

September 2023

 

Why did you decide on a career in health and safety?

I completed my student internship in the Dept of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) at Wright State University and was gifted with the opportunity to observe and assist all of the compliance specialists and safety officers in each of their respective areas of expertise. I was intrigued by the variety of roles a career in Environmental Health and Safety offers and have served in many capacities in my EHS career of 20+ years. 

 

What is your favorite thing about Ohio State?

My favorite thing about Ohio State is innovation which creates a strong and positive brand recognition. 

 

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

 I enjoy all outdoor activities and the occasional hurkle durkle.
