Safety Brief - Eye Protection

Selecting the right eye protection.

See Safety Clearly

Protecting your eyes is crucial in any workplace or activity where hazards exist. Choosing the right type of eye protection depends on the types of hazards present. Selecting the appropriate equipment ensures compliance with safety regulations and, most importantly, prevents injuries.

Safety Glasses

  • Designed to protect against impact hazards such as flying debris, dust, and particles
  • Typically have side shields for added protection
  • Use for tasks with mechanical tools, power tools, or machinery
  • Not suitable for liquid splashes, chemical exposure, or fine dust

Safety Goggles

  • Provide a sealed fit around the eyes for comprehensive protection
  • Must be worn under a face shield
  • Suitable for tasks involving hazardous chemicals, fine dusts/mists, or potential for airborne biological contaminants
  • Ensure proper fit to prevent gaps that could allow exposure
